The Global Express XRS, later rebranded as the Global 6000 in 2011, is a long-range jet that improves upon the original Global Express. It has a faster cruise speed and longer range. Introduced in 2005, it's one of Bombardier's largest planes. The Global 6000 has updated avionics. It can sleep up to eight people or seat up to 16. The baggage hold can fit 15 suitcases. The XRS can fly up to 6,905 miles, connecting North and South America, Australia and the Middle East, and Europe and Southeast Asia. It's designed for travelers' needs, with short-field capabilities and a spacious, luxurious interior. The cabin has plenty of space for up to 16 passengers. A typical setup for 14 people includes club seats with tables, a lounge or bedroom, a full kitchen, and a lavatory. It has one of the largest seated areas on a business jet. It can fly non-stop from Aspen to London City Airport. The plane can cross multiple time zones and continents. Enhanced soundproofing makes the cabin quiet. Its 28 windows let in more light, increasing passengers’ vision range. Two Rolls-Royce engines provide thrust, allowing for a maximum cruise speed of 924 km/h (Mach 0.89) and a long-range speed of up to 904 km/h. The XRS has Honeywell avionics, while the 6000 has Rockwell Collins avionics. An advanced wing design gives the aircraft speed, range, and short-field performance. It also has high definition TV monitors. Bombardier announced the Global Express in 1991, with its first flight in 1996. It was designed to fly at high speeds between any two points on the globe with only one fuel stop. It was certified in Canada and the United States in 1998, with deliveries starting in 1999. Production of the XRS began in 2004, with its flexible wing design making for a comfortable ride. Bombardier rebranded the XRS as the 6000 in 2011 with upgraded avionics.
