Description

1988 SIAI-Marchetti SF.260C - N751M - STANDARD CATEGORY ' Fuel-Injected ' Low 3,000 TT ' 372 SMOH (Corona 2016) ' Aspen Glass ' Ex-Air Combat USA Combat Gear ' Damage-Disclosed & Repaired ' Matched Pair ' MAKE OFFER Straight talk first, because you deserve it on a damage-history airplane: in 2010, at 868 hours TT, N751M had a gear-up on TO - the gear handle was not returned to the down position after a maintenance inspection. It was professionally repaired and returned to service: a sudden-stoppage engine inspection was performed, the propeller replaced, and the belly/structural repairs completed and documented in the logbooks. All records available for your mechanic. No surprises at the pre-buy. In return you get a low-time, fuel-injected, glass-panel, STANDARD-CATEGORY SF.260C with rare combat-mission equipment, priced accordingly. WHY THIS ONE. A STANDARD-CATEGORY SF.260C - Not experimental - the refined, fuel-injected evolution of Stelio Frati's legendary design. A later 1988 airframe with just 3,000 hours total time (genuinely low for the type), modernized with an Aspen glass panel (electronic ADI + HSI). Certified to +6/-3 G aerobatic, it is equally a real IFR cross-country traveler, cruising ~170 knots with 500-700 nm legs, day or night. It looks, sounds, and flies like a mini P-51 Mustang fighter. ENGINE & PROP. Lycoming 260 HP, fuel-injected - overhauled in 2016 by Corona Engines, just 372 hours since; propeller replaced at that work. Overhaul and 2012 sudden-stoppage inspection both documented in the logs. AIR COMBAT USA HERITAGE & MISSION GEAR. N751M flew with Air Combat USA, the pioneering civilian air-combat operation founded by Michael "Maverick" Blackstone, whose SF.260 fleet flew 100,000 sorties. Full mission suite: cockpit gunsight/laser air-combat simulation system, HD camera(s) and recording, and a smoke system. The airframe also has external wing hard-points for auxiliary fuel, camera pods, and similar external stores - a capability very few civil aircraft offer. (Racks sold separately. Equipment conveys with the airframe; commercial passenger operation requires the operator's own authority and insurance.) MATCHED PAIR. N751M is offered alongside its sister ship, SF.260B N13FD (carbureted) - two standard-category, combat-configured SF.260s that make a turnkey two-ship to revive a proven air-combat operation. Buy one, or buy the pair. THE AIRPLANE. Hangared at Chino, CA (KCNO), out of service since 2023, sold as a return-to-service airplane - plan for a fresh annual, pitot-static/transponder cert, and ADS-B Out before flight. Pre-buy and borescope welcomed. POSSIBLE TAX ADVANTAGE. As a standard-category aircraft in qualifying business use, N751M may be eligible for 100% first-year bonus depreciation, made permanent under the 2025 federal tax law (OBBBA). Confirm with your own tax advisor. SPECIFICATIONS 1988 SIAI-Marchetti SF.260C - N751M - s/n 571 Airframe: 3,000 hrs total time Engine: Lycoming 260 hp, fuel-injected - 372 hrs SMOH (overhauled 2016, Corona Engines) Propeller: replaced 2016 - Hartzell 2-Blade Aluminum Avionics: Aspen glass ADI + HSI; G-530W, KX-155, S-Tec, ADS-B Airworthiness: FAA STANDARD certificate - aerobatic +6/-3 G Mission gear: gunsight/laser combat sim, HD camera/recording, smoke system External stores: wing hard-points for aux fuel / camera pods / stores (racks sold separately) Damage history: 2012 gear-up - sudden-stoppage inspection, prop replaced, repaired & documented, returned to service; records available Status: out of service since 2023, hangared Chino, CA - needs annual + pitot-static/xpdr cert Logbooks: COMPLETE - Available for inspection Location: Chino, CA (KCNO) Price: $425K - Package pricing for the pair with N13FD TERMS. Sold as-is, where-is; not currently airworthy. All times, specifications, equipment, airworthiness category, and damage/repair history are believed accurate but not warranted; buyer to verify everything by personal inspection. Avionics / Equipment Noted above. Airframe Excellent condition. No visible damage anywhere. Aircraft had a minor belly incident in 2010 at 868 hours. Aircraft was repaired properly and returned to service after engine inspection and prop change repair following an inadvertent early gear retraction on takeoff - The mechanic left handle up following routine maintenance gear swing - pilot missed the improper gear lever position. Engines / Mods / Prop Engine is factory original and all stock except for FAA certified Smoke System. There are also gunsights, F-4 gun grips, and a custom HD 3-camera video systtem installed. All mods are FAA 337 approved. Interior / Exterior All original and looks like a vintage P-51 Mustang interior. Black vinyl side walls and seat cushions, Green 4-Point Hooker Harnesses, black plastic covers, and green/yellow zinc chromate floor boards. Remarks This is one of the finest, most robust, most beautiful flying machines to ever take to the sky. I have had the privelidge to pilot them over 4,000 hours. It is truly one of the greatest highlights of my 44 year flying career to date. If you want a plane that really does it all well, this is by far the best choice - in my humble (yes -slightly biased) opinion. Serious inquires only.
