Boeing 787-8
AXON Aviation Group
Description
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is Boeing’s most fuel-efficient aircraft. It is designed to use 20% less fuel than the Boeing 767 series. Its frame is mostly made of composite materials (80% by volume). It is easy to spot because of the jagged edges on its engines that reduce noise, and its wings that sweep upward. The smallest of the Boeing’s ‘Dreamliner’ family had its first test flight in December 2009. The first delivery was to All Nippon Airways in September 2011. It can fly 381 people almost 7,500 nautical miles. Its fuel efficiency has allowed airlines to start routes that were not possible before because of cost. These include London Heathrow – Austin (British Airways), Los Angeles – Changsha (Hainan Airlines), and Tijuana - Shanghai (Aeromexico). Inside, passengers enjoy features like lower cabin pressure and window dimming instead of pull-down shades. Main users of the 787-8 include All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, and Qatar Airways.
