Installation Overview

The installation of the Stabilizer Jackscrew Access Cover involves elevating the tailcone of the aircraft and cutting a rectangular hole in the aft tailcone skin. This allows for easier access to the jackscrews. The installation requires specific tools and parts, including a doubler assembly and cover plate.

Parts List

The document lists the required parts for the installation, including screws, rivets, and the access cover itself. For example, it specifies 6 screws (AN525-10R8), 5 rivets (MS20470AD4-5), and 1 cover (0712083-3) among others.

Installation Steps

The installation process includes several steps such as elevating the tailcone, drilling out existing rivets, positioning the doubler assembly, and securing it with rivets. The cover must be installed with screws, and the outer surface should be painted to match the aircraft's color.

Weight and Balance Impact

The installation results in a weight increase of 0.2 pounds, with an arm of 212.2 inches, leading to a resultant moment of 42.4 pound-inches.

Safety Notes

Care should be taken to prevent damage to the bulkhead when elevating the tailcone. Additionally, it may be necessary to detach actuator assemblies to provide adequate access during installation.

Safety notes

  • Prevent damage to the bulkhead when elevating the tailcone.
  • Detach actuator assemblies if necessary for access.
