Citation SERVICE BULLETIN SB525C-73-01 TITLE ENGINE FUEL AND CONTROL - FUEL CONTROL UNIT (FCU) FIELD REPLACEMENT EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 525C (CJ4) -0001 thru -0296 The equivalent of this service document has been incorporated on production airplanes -0297 and On. REASON The existing reducer fitting for the fuel pressure switch tube assembly will not fit if the fuel control unit is replaced with the latest configuration fuel control. DESCRIPTION This service document provides parts and instructions to replace a reducer in the fuel pressure switch installation. COMPLIANCE OPTIONAL. This service document can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner. A service document published by Textron Aviation may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service document, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service document kit. Only with written authorization from Textron Aviation can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service document only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service document only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the document. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Textron Aviation is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Textron Aviation-issued service document or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Textron Aviation. Textron Aviation is not responsible for the quality of maintenance performed to comply with this document, unless the maintenance is accomplished at a Textron Aviation-owned Service Center. WEIGHT AND BALANCE INFORMATION Negligible REFERENCES Cessna Model 525C Maintenance Manual Cessna Standard Practices Manual PUBLICATIONS AFFECTED Cessna Model 525C Illustrated Part Catalog ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that the airplane is electrically grounded. B. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. C. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. D. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them. 2. (Refer to Figure 1, View A-A.) Install a new AN919-2J Reducer. NOTE: It is not necessary to install both AN919-2J Reducers at the same time. These instructions are for installing the AN919-2J Reducer on one engine. A. Remove the lower cowl door. (Refer to the Model 525C Maintenance Manual, Chapter 71, Lower Cowl - Removal/Installation.) B. Disconnect the AN919-1J Reducer from the 7155003-3 Fuel Pressure Switch Tube Assembly and FCU Port. C. Discard the AN919-1J Reducer and MS29512-02 O-Ring. D. Install the new AN919-2J Reducer and one MS29512-03 O-Ring between the 7155003-3 Fuel Pressure Switch Tube Assembly and FCU Port. CAUTION: Use a back up wrench to prevent damage to the FCU. E. Torque the AN919-2J Reducer. (Refer to the Cessna Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Torque Data - Maintenance Practices.) (1) The maximum allowable torque between the FCU port and reducer fitting is 60-70 inch-pounds. F. Install the lower cowl door. (Refer to the Model 525C Maintenance Manual, Chapter 71, Lower Cowl - Removal/Installation.) G. Do Step 2.A. through Step 2.F. for the opposite side if installing both AN919-2J Reducers at the same time. 3. Remove the maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery. (Refer to the Model 525C Maintenance Manual, Chapter 73, Engine Fuel Pressure Switch - Inspection/Check.) 5. Make an entry in the airplane logbook that states compliance and method of compliance with this service document. NOTE: Textron Aviation recommends that compliance with all service documents is reported to Camp Systems International. • Complete a record of compliance.
