Cirrus SR20 — Airworthiness Directives

This document is an Airworthiness Directive (AD) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) of Australia concerning the Cirrus Design SR20 and SR22 series aeroplanes. It specifically addresses a modification required for the Cirrus Airplane Parachute System (CAPS) to enhance safety and prevent potential failures during emergency deployments. The directive applies to all SR20 airplanes with serial numbers ranging from 1005 to 1798 and SR22 airplanes from 0002 to 2437. Compliance with the directive is mandatory within specified timeframes to ensure the safety of the aircraft and its occupants.

• Modification required for Cirrus SR20 (SN 1005-1798) and SR22 (SN 0002-2437) airplanes.
• Replace the pick-up collar support and nylon screws in the CAPS.
• Modification must follow CDC Alert Service Bulletin No. SB A2X-95-10 R1 or later.
• Compliance is required within 25 hours TIS or 60 days after August 16, 2007.
• Failure to comply may result in parachute deployment failure during emergencies.
