PLANNING INFORMATION A. EFFECTIVITY This Service Bulletin is applicable to FALCON 8X aircraft with serial numbers 402 and subsequent that have not previously implemented DASSAULT AVIATION modification FALCON 8X M2091. NOTE: Implementation of DASSAULT AVIATION Service Bulletin 7X-550 (M1925) "EASy III - 3ᴿᴰ CERT" is a prerequisite. B. REASON The purpose of this Service Bulletin is to upgrade the aircraft avionics to the EASy III load 16.6.3 standard that fixes a weak point in the Falcon 7X EASy avionics architecture. This weak point can lead to the display of misleading data on the display units. C. DESCRIPTION The operation consists in performing a full software load. D. COMPLIANCE Mandatory as prescribed by the Airworthiness Authorities of the country of registration of the aircraft. E. APPROVAL This Service Bulletin covers DASSAULT AVIATION modification FALCON 8X M2091 that has been approved by EASA. The technical content of this document is approved under the authority of the DOA ref. EASA.21J.051. F. LABOR Estimated labor-hours: Refer to Service Bulletin Commercial Summary. NOTE: These labor-hours only concern the work described in this Service Bulletin and do not include other maintenance work that may be performed on this occasion. G. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Obey the general maintenance and safety precautions (Refer to TASK 20-00-00-910-801). B. PRELIMINARY STEPS The aircraft must be in the maintenance configuration (Refer to TASK 20-00-00-910-803). C. PROCEDURE CAUTION: PRIOR TO STARTING THE SOFTWARE LOADING, MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ALL THE REQUIRED CD-ROMS MENTIONED IN PARAGRAPH 3. (1) Energize the aircraft systems (Refer to TASK 24-00-00-860-801 - "Connection of the electrical ground power unit" and “Energization with the electrical ground power unit”). (2) Record the current APM Settings configuration of the aircraft (Refer to TASK 45-91-00-910-801). (3) Load the new software and databases in accordance with the data loading procedures (Refer to TASK 45-90-00-860-801), (Refer to TASK 45-90-00-860-803), (Refer to TASK 45-90-00-860-804) and following the sequence hereafter: CAUTION: PRIOR TO STARTING THE OPERATIONAL SOFTWARE LOADING, MAKE SURE THAT THE “CRC32” VALUE CONTAINED ON THE LOAD CD-ROM MATCHES THE CRC VALUE SHOWN ON FALCON PORTAL (REFER TO TASK 45-90-00-860-804). SOFTWARE KEY WORD EFFECTIVITY Load 16.6.3 Operational Software Top Level System Part Number EB60001546-0117 All aircraft Creation of the APM Settings files: • Create and save the APM Settings file on the hard drive using the APM Settings Tool on the HONEYWELL EPIC Tools CD-ROM and the configuration noted previously. Use the settings.def definition file from the load 16.6.3 Operation Software located in the apm_defn folder. NOTE: The create and load feature should not be used. • Load the settings file created from the hard drive using DLS. • Make a copy of this file generated by the APM Settings Tool on a media (e.g. CD-ROM) and keep a copy on-board the aircraft. NOTE: It is recommended to print the "settings.text" file generated by the APM Settings Tool to keep a record of the latest settings configuration.
