Airspeeds for Normal Operation

The checklist specifies airspeeds for maximum take-off and landing weight, applicable at sea level. Key speeds include: Takeoff at 58 KIAS, Best Rate-of-Climb (VY) with T/O flaps at 68 KIAS, and Landing approach speed with LDG flaps at 55 KIAS. Maximum demonstrated crosswind speed for takeoff and landing is 20 knots.

Preflight Inspection

The preflight inspection section outlines necessary checks before engine start, including cabin checks, fuel quantity, circuit breakers, and flaps. It emphasizes the importance of ensuring the aircraft is airworthy and that all required documents are onboard.

Starting Engine

The checklist provides detailed procedures for cold, warm, and hot engine starts, including specific throttle positions and mixture settings. It warns against leaving the ignition switch in the 'Start' position once the engine begins to start.

Pre-Takeoff Checks

Before takeoff, pilots must ensure safety belts are fastened, the canopy is latched, and the master switch is on. It also includes checks for oil temperature and pressure, as well as confirming that the fuel quantity is sufficient.

After Landing Procedures

After landing, the checklist instructs pilots to adjust the throttle as required, keep the mixture full rich, and obtain taxi clearance. It also includes steps for retracting flaps and managing lights.

Safety notes

  • Do not leave the ignition switch on 'Start' position once the engine makes a 'starting sound'.
  • Do not engage starter during Live Magneto Check.
