Enstrom 480B manuals

The Enstrom 480/480B Operator’s Manual and FAA Approved Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplement provides operating instructions, procedures, and limitations for the Crash Resistant Fuel System (CRFS) installation on the Enstrom 480B helicopter. It includes FAA-approved chapters on operating limitations, normal procedures, emergency procedures, and performance data, along with additional information specific to the CRFS.

• The CRFS is standard equipment for newly manufactured Enstrom 480B helicopters from S/N 5256.
• Fielded aircraft S/N 5255 and prior can be converted to CRFS with a service information letter.
• The supplement must always be present in the helicopter if the CRFS is installed.
• Maintenance is required if breakaway fuel valves indicate a closed position.
• A left or right roll exceeding 27° during takeoff or landing will close the rollover valve.
• The CRFS is designed to retain fuel in a crash.
• Breakaway couplings prevent fuel leaks in the event of an impact.
• The aircraft may only be flown if valve indicators show an open position.
