Introduction

The introduction highlights the need for a re-evaluation of engine setup procedures by TCM, recommending a reset and verification of the low and high-end engine setup values as per the latest instructions.

Instructions

Detailed instructions for engine setup are provided, referencing Section 71-00-50 of the M20R and M20S Service and Maintenance Manuals. Key adjustments include idle fuel pressure, idle mixture, idle speed, and full power fuel flow.

Idle Fuel Pressure

Adjust the idle fuel pressure after warming the engine to maintain 700 RPM and set the idle unmetered fuel pressure at 9.0-11.0 psig.

Idle Mixture

The idle mixture should be adjusted to achieve a 40-60 RPM increase in engine speed when moved to idle cut-off.

Full Power Fuel Flow

For the M20S Eagle, the full power fuel flow should be adjusted to achieve 129 to 131 pph with a metered fuel pressure of 15.0 to 16.2 psig.

Safety notes

  • Ensure all adjustments are performed after the engine has warmed up to avoid inaccurate readings.
