SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Piper PA-18 Super Cub · Airworthiness Directives
Overview
This document is an Airworthiness Directive (AD) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia concerning the Piper PA-18 and PA-19 Super Cub series aeroplanes. It outlines specific requirements to ensure the safety and airworthiness of these aircraft models. The directive focuses on the re-routing of fuel primer and hydraulic lines to prevent potential hazards, specifically the risk of fire due to contact with the exhaust muffler. Compliance with this directive is mandatory for all applicable models, and it specifies a timeframe for compliance based on the aircraft's time in service. The document serves as a critical safety measure for operators and maintenance personnel of the Piper Super Cub series.
- Re-route fuel primer line and hydraulic line to avoid contact with the exhaust muffler.
- Secure lines to the firewall using clamps as per Piper SL No. 213.
- Compliance is required within 25 hours of time in service after 31 March 1985.
- This directive is applicable to all models of the Piper PA-18 and PA-19 Super Cub series.
- Failure to comply may increase the risk of in-flight fire.
