Piper PA-28 Archer II — Emergency Procedures

• Engine fire during start: Crank engine, set mixture to idle cut-off, open throttle, and turn off electric fuel pump.
• In-flight engine fire: Turn off fuel selector, throttle, and mixture; initiate emergency descent if fire persists.
• Power loss during takeoff: Land straight ahead if possible; if not, maintain safe airspeed and make shallow turns.
• For engine power loss in flight: Pitch for best glide speed (VG) and switch fuel tanks if necessary.
• Before takeoff: Ensure electric fuel pump is on and fuel selector is set to the fullest tank.
