Engine Failure

The manual details procedures for handling engine failure during different phases of flight. During takeoff, pilots should reduce throttle to idle and apply maximum brakes. Immediately after takeoff, maintain an airspeed of Vg (85 KIAS). In-flight, the procedures include setting the mixture to rich, turning on the fuel pump, switching fuel tanks, and applying carb heat.

Loss of Fuel Pressure

In the event of a loss of fuel pressure, the recommended actions are to turn on the fuel pump and select the fullest fuel tank to ensure adequate fuel supply to the engine.

Low Oil Pressure / High Temperature

If low oil pressure or high temperature is detected, the pilot should land as soon as practical to prevent engine damage.

Engine Roughness

For engine roughness, the manual suggests applying full carb heat, turning on the fuel pump, adjusting the mixture, switching fuel tanks, and checking both magneto switches.

Fires During Start on Ground

In case of a fire during engine start on the ground, the pilot should continue cranking the engine, set the mixture to idle cutoff, open the throttle fully, turn off the fuel pump, and switch the fuel selector off.

Forced Landings Without Power

For forced landings without power, maintain an airspeed of Vg (85 KIAS), set the mixture to idle cutoff, and switch the fuel selector off.

Ditching Procedures

In ditching scenarios, maintain an airspeed of Vg (85 KIAS), set the mixture to idle cutoff, and approach the water by landing into the wind in high winds or parallel to swells in light winds.
