Exhaust Coupling Inspection

This section outlines the requirements for inspecting exhaust couplings and tailpipes on the PA-31-310 and PA-31-325. It specifies that the V-band segments must be checked for cracks, and flanges should be inspected for any signs of distortion or damage. Inspections are mandated every 100 hours of operation.

Rudder Torque Tube Inspection

This section details the inspection of the rudder torque tube and associated ribs for corrosion. It is required that these components be inspected every 12 months, with necessary repairs or replacements to be made if any corrosion is found.

Parts List

A comprehensive parts list is provided, detailing various components such as risers, tubes, elbows, clamps, and gaskets, along with their respective part numbers. This list is essential for maintenance and repair operations.

Tailpipe Inspection

The document instructs on the inspection of two-piece tailpipes to ensure they can be disassembled and that their dimensions are within standard nominal limits. It also emphasizes checking for internal pitting and wall thickness, particularly at the outside radius.

Safety notes

  • Inspect V-band segments for cracks to prevent exhaust leaks.
  • Corrosion in the rudder torque tube can affect aircraft control.
