Airframe Specifications
The airframe specifications detail the dimensions and structural characteristics of the PA-32 series. Key metrics include a wingspan ranging from 32.67 to 36.17 feet, a length of 27.58 to 28.75 feet, and a height of 8.17 to 9.5 feet. The cabin dimensions are consistent across models, with a height of 42 inches, width of 48.75 inches, and length of 124.25 inches. The wing area varies from 174.5 to 178.3 square feet, and the standard fuel capacity ranges from 50 to 102 gallons.
Engine Specifications
The engine specifications indicate that all PA-32 models are powered by Lycoming engines, with horsepower ratings primarily at 300 HP for most models. The time between overhauls (TBO) is generally 2,000 hours, except for some models which have a TBO of 1,800 hours. The specific engine models include the IO-540 series and TIO-540 for turbocharged variants.
Performance Metrics
Performance metrics for the PA-32 series include a top speed ranging from 146 to 195 knots, with a 75% cruise speed between 139 and 176 knots. Climb speeds vary from 87 to 92 knots, and stall speeds with flaps deployed range from 52 to 70 knots. The range of the aircraft varies significantly, with some models capable of flying up to 950 nautical miles.
Loading Capacities
Loading capacities are crucial for operational planning. The gross weight for most models is 3,600 lbs, with useful loads ranging from 1,135 to 1,701 lbs. The empty weight varies by model, with the lightest being 1,699 lbs and the heaviest at 2,465 lbs.
