Operating Limitations

Engine Failure During Takeoff
In the event of an engine failure during takeoff, the pilot should land straight ahead if adequate runway remains. The recommended actions include lowering the left gear, applying brakes as required, and shutting off the throttle.
Engine Failure in Flight
If an engine failure occurs in flight, the pilot should switch the fuel selector to the tank with fuel, turn on the electric fuel pump, set the mixture to rich, open the alternate air, and check engine gauges.

In case of an engine fire during start, the pilot should continue cranking the starter, set the mixture to idle cut-off, open the throttle, turn off the electric fuel pump, and switch the fuel selector off. If the fire continues, abandon the aircraft.
Engine Fire in Flight
For an engine fire in flight, the pilot should check the source of the fire, turn off the fuel selector, close the throttle, set the mixture to idle cut-off, ensure the electric fuel pump is off, and turn off the heater and defroster. A power-off landing should be prepared.
Safety notes
