Applicability

These units have been installed on The New Piper PA-42-720 (Cheyenne III and IIIA) and PA-42-1000 (Cheyenne 400) aircraft. Background: Nichols Airborne Model 1H75-6 Pressure Regulator is installed within The New Piper Aircraft’s PA-42-720 and PA-42-1000 De-ice System. Engineering evaluation has identified that 1H75-6 Pressure Regulators of the above serial numbers may not maintain the minimum De-ice pressure of 16 Pounds per Square Inch (PSI) under some conditions. Compliance: Compliance with the following is mandatory. During the next scheduled PA-42-720 or PA-42-1000 maintenance inspection or aircraft operating time of fifty (50) hours, whichever comes first, inspect the Nichols Airborne Model 1H75-6 Pressure Regulator for the serial numbers (date codes*) between 1AE and 7AV inclusive. If a pressure regulator within this serial number range is identified, the regulator shall be removed per the instructions provided by the airframe manufacturer in the appropriate maintenance publication. Price: The outright list price for the Model 1H75-6 Pressure Regulator is $2,713 and the standard core credit is $814. For a limited time, Nichols Airborne is providing a discounted upgrade price for the Model 1H75-6 Pressure Regulator installed as a result of Service Letter Number 62. This discounted pricing has been developed to represent pro-rata usage of the removed pressure regulator. A pressure regulator that is still under warranty will be exchanged at no-charge.
