1. Planning Information A. Effectivity (1) Piper Aircraft PA-44-180 Seminole with type certified aircraft engines utilizing a Piper P/N 651-756 alternator installed on 24 volt aircraft with serial number’s 4496331 and 4496339 and up. B. Reason (1) Hartzell Engine Technologies LLC is issuing this Service Letter as a notice that an FAA PMA has been obtained for the P/N ES-10024B-6 alternator. (2) Alternator P/N ES-10024B-6 is now an approved replacement for the Piper P/N 651-756 alternator as used in the PA-44-180 Seminole. (3) Alternator P/N ES-10024B-6 may be obtained through approved HET distributors. C. Description (1) This publication provides Additional Maintenance Information (AMI). (2) Alternator P/N ES-10024B-6 is identical in fit, form, and function with the Piper P/N 651-756 alternator. (3) Alternator P/N ES-10024B-6 is a 24 volt, 100 amp alternator which may be used in lieu of the Piper P/N 651-756 alternator as used in the PA-44-180 Seminole. This unit has a weight of approximately 12.6 lbs and is delivered without a pulley. D. Approval (1) This technical publication has been approved by Hartzell Engine Technologies LLC. E.
