KI-174 Revision C ITEM PART NUMBER KIT CONTENTS QTY Consumables Refer to R44 Maintenance Manual (MM) § 1.400 or R66 MM § 20-70 for approved materials list. • Epoxy primer • R8260 Touch-up paint kit (optional) Kit Instructions 1. Remove ground handling wheel(s), if installed. Wiggle tailcone slightly at tail rotor gearbox to ensure helicopter rests firmly on ground. Position a padded stand lightly against underside of horizontal stablizer in line with spar, and outboard of vertical stabilizers. 2. Remove horizontal stabilizer-to-tailcone attachment hardware. 3. Remove torque stripe and clean area around and between attachment holes on upper and lower surfaces of stabilizer. Solvent clean stabilizer and weight clamping surfaces. 4. Refer to Figure 1. Install weights using bolts, washers, and nuts provided. Standard torque per R44 MM § 1.320 or R66 MM § 20-32. 5. Install palnuts and standard torque per R44 MM § 1.320 or R66 MM § 20-32. Torque stripe per R44 MM Figure 2-1 or R66 MM Figure 5-1.
