Versatility, reliability, and simplicity have made the R44, the helicopter of choice for pilots around the globe R44 HELICOPTERS The exceptionally reliable and easy to maintain R44 has become the helicopter of choice throughout the world. R44s have a two-bladed rotor system, T-bar cyclic, and a crashworthy fuel system. Hydraulically boosted controls provide responsive handling by eliminating cyclic and collective feedback forces. Robinson offers three versions of its best-selling helicopter, each designed to meet the diverse needs of the helicopter industry. R44 RAVEN II The Raven II has a 2+2 configuration and is powered by Lycoming’s IO-540 fuel injected engine, delivering improved altitude performance and increased pay- load, without the need for carburetor heat. R44 RAVEN I The Raven I has a 2+2 configuration and is powered by Lycoming’s O-540 carbureted engine with carbu- retor heat assist, delivering performance and affordability. R44 CADET The Cadet has the same airframe, rotor system and O-540 engine as the Raven I. The differences are the Cadet has a 2+Cargo configuration, its maximum gross weight is 2200 pounds, and its engine is derated to 210 take-off and 185 continuous. The lower weight and derated power provide increased performance margins at high altitudes and extend the time between overhaul to 2400 hours. R44S WITH FLOATS Clippers I and II are Ravens with extra corrosion protection and equipped with floats for over-water operations. Fixed utility floats, which remain fully inflated, are available on both Clippers and the Cadet. Pop-out floats, which inflate within 2-3 sec- onds of activation, are available only on Clipper IIs.
