This document serves as an Airplane Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) for the Garmin GDL 82 ADS-B UAT Transmitter as installed in the Mooney M20D Master. It provides essential information regarding the installation, operation, and compliance of the GDL 82 system with FAA regulations. The AFMS is intended for pilots and maintenance personnel to ensure proper use and understanding of the GDL 82, including its capabilities, limitations, and emergency procedures. It is crucial for maintaining compliance with 14 CFR §91.225 and §91.227 for ADS-B Out operations. The document must be incorporated into the FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual and carried in the aircraft at all times when the GDL 82 is installed.

• The GDL 82 must be installed with a Mode A/C transponder and a GPS/SBAS position source to comply with ADS-B Out regulations.
• The maximum operating altitude for aircraft with ADS-B Out UAT equipment is 18,000 feet MSL.
• The GDL 82 operates automatically once powered on, requiring no pilot intervention under normal conditions.
• In case of electrical power loss, pilots should consider turning off the GDL 82 to preserve essential avionics.
• The ADS-B OUT FAIL annunciator indicates when the GDL 82 is not transmitting a valid ADS-B OUT message.
