Description
Model Guide About the Cirrus SR20 The Cirrus SR20 is the four-cylinder member of the Cirrus family: a composite four- or five-seat airplane with side-stick controls, a glass cockpit and the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). It is widely used by flight schools and by owners who want a modern, comfortable airplane with lower running costs than the SR22. Earlier SR20s use a 200-horsepower Lycoming engine; the G6 version introduced in 2017 moved to a 215-horsepower engine with more payload and better climb. Like the SR22, most aircraft from 2008 on have the Garmin-based Cirrus Perspective avionics. What to Check When Buying a Used Cirrus SR20 CAPS parachute repack and rocket motor dates, due on a ten-year cycle. Engine hours since overhaul and how the aircraft was used: flight-school aircraft see more cycles. Avionics generation, ADS-B, WAAS and database status. Composite airframe condition and any damage history. Complete logbooks, ideally with Cirrus service center maintenance. See all Cirrus SR20 listings and buying guidance.
