Excessive Rate of Charge

In the event of an excessive rate of charge, the checklist instructs the pilot to turn off the master switch, reduce electrical load to a minimum, and then turn the master switch back on for several minutes to partially recharge the system.

Low Oil Pressure

If low oil pressure is detected with normal oil temperature, the pilot should land at the nearest suitable airport. In cases of total oil loss with rising oil temperature, the engine power should be reduced immediately, and preparations for a forced landing should be made.

Emergency Landing Without Engine Power

For an emergency landing without engine power, the checklist specifies a maximum glide speed of 70 mph with flaps up. It includes steps for fuel management, transponder settings, and final approach procedures to ensure a safe landing.

Ditching Procedures

In the event of a ditching, the checklist advises securing or jettisoning objects in the baggage area, setting the transponder to 7700, and making a mayday call. The approach should be made with flaps at 40° and a descent rate of 300 ft/min at 65 mph.

Engine Fire During Start

If an engine fire occurs during start, the pilot should continue cranking the engine. If it starts, maintain power at 1700 RPM for a few minutes. If it does not start, cranking should continue with the throttle open for 2-3 minutes while calling for ground assistance to extinguish the fire.
