Applicable Models

The STC propeller installation applies to all Cessna 177RG aircraft from serial number 177RG0001 through 177RG1366 and F177RG aircraft from serial number F177RG0001 through F177RG0177, equipped with Lycoming IO-360-A1B6(D) engines.

Airworthiness Limitations

The Airworthiness Limitations section is FAA approved and specifies maintenance required under 14 CFR §43.16 and §91.403. There are no new airworthiness limitations associated with the installation of the STC propeller.

Introduction - GENERAL DESCRIPTION The subject STC approves replacement of the original McCauley propeller and spinner models listed in airplane Type Certificate Data Sheets A20CE and A26EU with a model HC-C2YR-1BFP / F7894 on the aircraft models listed in the previous section. A detailed description of propeller construction and function may be found in Hartzell Manual 115N that is supplied with each STC kit. The information contained in these Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) supplements or supersedes the information provided in the aircraft service manuals only in those areas listed. When applicable, specific paragraph numbers from the Cessna Service manual are referenced. Chapter 4 – AIRWORTHINESS LIMITATIONS: NOTE: The Airworthiness Limitations section is FAA approved and specifies maintenance required under 14 CFR §43.16 and §91.403 unless an alternative program has been FAA approved. There are no new (or additional) airworthiness limitations associated with this equipment and/or installation. Chapter 5 – TIME LIMITS / MAINTENANCE CHECKS All required maintenance, inspections, time intervals and procedures are provided in Hartzell Manual 115N (Hartzell Propeller Owner’s Manual) provided with each propeller. Recommended Time-Between-Overhaul (TBO) limits for the STC propeller may be found in Hartzell Service Letter HC-SL-61-61Y (available at www.hartzellprop.com). Hartzell Propeller Inc. The STC propeller is a 78” diameter, two-blade, constant-speed propeller with aluminum blades. The STC propeller is installed in accordance with STC Installation Instructions INST_040416. All required maintenance, inspections, time intervals and procedures are provided in Hartzell Manual 115N (Hartzell Propeller Owner’s Manual) provided with each propeller. Recommended Time-Between-Overhaul (TBO) limits for the STC propeller are provided in Hartzell Service Letter HC-SL-61-61Y. Propeller overhaul must be accomplished by an approved Propeller Repair Station. Composite Spinner This STC utilizes a hybrid composite spinner, model number 106848( ). The spinner uses an aluminum aft bulkhead and a lightweight, composite, single-piece spinner dome. The spinner dome is supported by a slip-fit, composite forward bulkhead that engages the propeller cylinder. A single row of flush screws attaches the dome to the aft bulkhead.
