Aircraft operators are required to perform periodic maintenance readouts on flight recorder systems, usually at least once a year. This requirement applies to both Flight Data Recorders (FDRs) and Solid State Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVRs). Flight Data Systems is the leading service provider for the readout of cockpit voice and flight data recorders, providing services to more than 300 customers globally. Analysis services are provided for both annual serviceability/parameter correlation checks, incident reports, audio analysis, intelligibility checks and datalink readouts. Each readout is carried out following in house procedures that are constructed as per the standard guidelines set by the UK CAA known as CAP731, FAA AC 20-141B, FAR 121.344(d; F) and ICAO Annex 6. For customers under our readout service contract, Flight Data Systems can also provide download equipment such as the HHMPI or incident reports as part of a managed readout service. Managed Service: FDS provides readout service agreements and consignment download equipment as part of managed readout service. Maintain Compliance: Fleet operators required to perform annual readout maintenance of FDR data and CVR clarity to validate proper functionality. Web-based Platform: Data sent by operators to FDS for analysis via Onehub’s secure web-based server.
