Citation SERVICE BULLETIN SB525B-76-04 TITLE ENGINE CONTROLS - UPDATED FJ44-3A FULL AUTHORITY ENGINE CONTROL (FADEC) FIELD REPLACEMENT EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 525B (CJ3+) -0057 and-0451 thru -0582 The equivalent of this service document has been incorporated on production airplanes 525B-0583 and On. REASON The current 9912614-2 FADEC is no longer available. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin provides parts and instructions to install new 9912614-3 FADECs if needed. NOTE: The left and right 9912614-2 FADEC must be replaced at the same time with 9912614-3 FADECs. COMPLIANCE OPTIONAL. This service document can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner. A service document published by Textron Aviation may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service document, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service document kit. Only with written authorization from Textron Aviation can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service document only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service document only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the document. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Textron Aviation is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Textron Aviation-issued service document or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Textron Aviation. Textron Aviation is not responsible for the quality of maintenance performed to comply with this document, unless the maintenance is accomplished at a Textron Aviation-owned Service Center. Remove the left and right 9912614-2 FADEC. (Refer to the Model 525B Maintenance Manual, Chapter 76, Full Authority Digital Control (FADEC) - Maintenance Practices) 2. Install 2 new 9912614-3 FADECs. (Refer to the Model 525B Maintenance Manual, Chapter 76, Full Authority Digital Control (FADEC) - Maintenance Practices) A. (Refer to Figure 1. View A-A) Use the lower FADEC mounting holes to install on mounting brackets. NOTE: The left and right 9912614-2 FADEC must be replaced at the same time with 9912614-3 FADECs. 3. Make sure that the following temporary changes are inserted into the 525B (CJ3+) FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual (525BFMA) or that Revision 2 or later of the Airplane Flight Manual is used. A. 525BFMA TC-R01-27, Section III, Operating Procedures, Amber Message Procedures, ENG CNTRL FAULT L and/or R, page 3-510-10, update procedure. B. 525BFMA TC-R01-28, Section III, Operating Procedures, Emergency/Abnormal Procedures, Engine Start Malfunction, page 3-660-6, update procedure. 4. Make sure that the following temporary changes are inserted into the 525B (CJ3+) FAA Approved Pilots' Checklist. A. 525BCLAEAP TC-R01-14, Emergency/Abnormal Procedures, Amber Message Procedures, page 3-510-10, ENG CNTRL FAULT L and/or R, update procedure. B. 525BCLAEAP TC-R01-15, Emergency/Abnormal Procedures, Engine Start Malfunction, page 3-660-6, update procedure. 5. Make sure the flight crew receives the Flight Crew Operations Summary, which shows the operational changes that are a result of the accomplishment of this service bulletin. NOTE: Textron Aviation recommends that compliance with all service documents is reported to Camp Systems International. • Complete a record of compliance.
