The seat cushions in this manual conform to the requirements of FAR 25.853(c), Appendix F, Part II, effective 11/26/84 C. "The conditions and test required for TSO approval of this article are minimum performance standards. It is the responsibility of those desiring to install the article either on or within specific type or class of aircraft to determine that the aircraft installation conditions are within the TSO standards. If not within the TSO standards, the article may be installed only if further evaluation by the applicant documents an acceptable installation and is approved by the administrator." D. Model 1423 has been tested to the requirements of TSO-C127. TASK 25-14-22-870-802-A01 2. Model Identification A. The basic model is designed as described in this manual. TASK 25-14-22-870-803-A01 3. Characteristics A. Typical of seat model: The Pilot / Co-Pilot TASK 25-14-22-870-804-A01 4. Installation Limitations A. The conditions and tests required for TSO approval of this article are minimum performance standards. It is the responsibility of those desiring to install this article either on or within a specific type or class of aircraft to determine that the aircraft installation conditions are within the TSO standards. TSO articles must be approved for installation. The article may be installed only if the installation is performed in accordance with 14 CFR Part 43 or the applicable airworthiness requirements. The TSO-C127a installation limitations for the Model 1423-( ) Series seats are: (1) The seats are certified for installation only on Cessna Citation X (750), Citation Excel (560XL) and Citation Sovereign (680) aircraft under TSO-C127a. It is the installers responsibility to insure that the installation configuration complies with the items used for the dynamic tests as documented in this test plan. Approval for all other installations is the responsibility of the installer. 25-14-22 Page 1 Nov 10/2003 AIRCRAFT INTERIOR PRODUCTS - GOODRICH CORP. (31218) COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL MODEL 1423 (2) All Model 1423 Series part numbers must be installed on tracks equivalent to Goodrich AIP Seat Test Track P/N 2A8092-21 (Outboard Track) and 2A8092-25 (Inboard Track), which are equivalent to Cessna Seat Rail Extrusion Drawing S2343. The seat tracks must be installed using MS24694-S48 Flat Countersunk Head Machine Screws (Low Alloy Steel, 125 ksi minimum tensile strength) or equivalent. (3) All seat part numbers are certified to the static load requirements of TSO-C127a. In addition the seats are certified to the following Cessna specified Flight and Ground Loads: 9.33g down and 6.33g up. (4) The maximum allowable seat weight excluding equipment is 52.0 pounds (23.6 kgs). (5) The maximum allowable weight of a life vest installed in the seat back pouch is 2.0 pounds (0.9 kgs). (6) For the copilot seat, the maximum allowable weight of the fire extinguisher and bracket attached to the front beam of the base assembly is 5.4 pounds (2.4 kgs). (7) The maximum allowable weight of the pilot relief tube and bracket installed on the outboard seat pan structure is 0.5 pounds (0.23kgs). (8) The cushions and restraint system used on this dynamically tested seat are an integral part of the Model 1423 TSO-C127a authorization. Only those cushions and restraint systems listed on the seat label and in the Model 1423 Component Maintenance Manual are authorized for installation on this seat. NOTE: All seat part numbers are shipped without upholstery (dress covers for cushions, armrest pad covers and back pouch cover). It is the installers responsibility to insure that the final installation configuration (i.e., with upholstery) complies with the flammability requirements of 14 CFR 25.853(a) and (c). (9) The authorized restraint system for the Model 1423 Series is AMSAFE P/N 5001-2 with black webbing or any other webbing color approved under TSO-C114 for the P/N 5001 restraint system. General NOTE: Refer to TESTING/FAULT ISOLATION to find the condition or probable cause of any malfunction, and to estimate the level of disassembly and repair. The disassembly process in its entirety should be utilized for total overhaul. TASK 25-14-22-010-802-A01 2. Seat Assembly 1423 (See IPL Figure 1 unless otherwise noted.) NOTE: Unless otherwise specified, Assembly instructions will relate to the 1423-3 version of the seat assembly only. A. Remove headrest shroud (5) by removing screws (10). B. Remove headrest cushion (15) by firmly pulling from any corner C. Remove backrest cushion (20) by firmly pulling from any corner D. Remove seat pan cushion (25) by pulling from velcro. E. Detach arm pad assemblies (30, 35) by depressing detent spring located within bottom of armrest assemblies (185, 195). F. Remove velcro (40, 45) by lifting and pulling from any corner. G.
