Power Plant
The Diamond DA50 RG is powered by a Continental CD-300 turbocharged engine, which is FADEC controlled and runs on jet fuel. The engine provides a maximum output of 300 hp and a maximum continuous power (MCP) of 270 hp.
Dimensions and Mass
The DA50 RG has a total length of 13.41 m (44 ft), a wingspan of 9.23 m (30 ft 3 in), and a height of 2.88 m (9 ft 5 in). The aircraft has a maximum take-off mass (MTOM) of 1,999 kg (4,407 lbs) and an empty mass of 1,440 kg (3,175 lbs), allowing for a useful load of 559 kg (1,232 lbs).
Performance
The aircraft can achieve a maximum speed of 335 km/h TAS (181 kts TAS) at an altitude of 16,000 ft with a weight of 1,700 kg. The stall speed in landing configuration is 106 km/h CAS (57 kts CAS), and it has a best rate of climb of 5.3 m/s (1,050 ft/min). The maximum range, including a 30-minute reserve, is 1,389 km (750 nm).
Fuel Capacity and Consumption
The fuel capacity of the DA50 RG is 189 liters (50 US gallons). At maximum range, the fuel consumption is 34.1 liters per hour (9 US gallons per hour).
Take-off and Landing Distances
At sea level and maximum take-off mass, the take-off distance is 440 m (1,444 ft) for ground roll and 740 m (2,427 ft) to clear a 50 ft obstacle. The landing distance is 340 m (1,115 ft) for ground roll and 640 m (2,100 ft) to clear a 50 ft obstacle.
