The Leonardo Helicopters Flight Crew Operations Manual is the result of the company effort to maximize safety in operations. The final target is to enhance operations safety and provide the Operators with an advanced tool to ensure operational efficiency .Following an intense development and operators’ collaboration phase, Leonardo Helicopters issued the AW 139 FCOM in 2017. , the AW 139 FCOM immediately became the standard and is currently the most used FCOM within the rotary wing industry. The AW 189 FCOM was completed in 2017, perfectly in line with LH Helicopters commitment and is now available for all AW 189 Oil and Gas Operators. This FCOM is a further evidence of our frontline commitment to Safety and Operational Efficiency and it is designed to assist operators of the AW Products and to become the key reference for Offshore Operations. The FCOM has been written and organized to serve as a basis for Customers’ Operations Manual Part B or equivalent, in accordance with the applicable requirements. The FCOM is fully integrated with Skyflight mobile, that is the gateway to enhance your Leonardo Helicopters flying experience. It has been designed to support the crew in their Flight Planning activities whilst operating with the AgustaWestland products family. The application provides an intuitive, simple and modern Human Machine Interface, which does not require formal training. Skyflight is the optimal off- aircraft tool to carry out pre-flight evaluation of all the aspects of any mission, ensuring a thorough safety assessment. At Leonardo Helicopters, we believe that teaming with you for further developments of the FCOM is the right and safest approach. STRUCTURE The basic aircraft RFM is contained in the manual . It has been integrated with the applicable supplements for an offshore configured Helicopter. This means that flight crews can now review supplemental information alongside the basic aircraft data in one convenient location. The manuals main topics are Performance, Limitations, Normal Operations, Emergencies & Malfunctions and Aircraft Systems. Each of topics has been reviewed, developed and extended to deliver detailed practical information to pilots in a logical and organized flow. NORMAL OPERATIONS The Normal Procedures are arranged in a sequential narrative order describing a flight to an offshore destination. Each specific activity of the flight is provided with a further analysis through sub FLIGHT CREW OPERATING MANUAL categories: ‘Setting up the cockpit environment’, ‘MCC Considerations’, ‘Use of Automation’, ‘Operational Considerations’, ‘RFM Procedure’ and ‘Quick Reference Plates’ which allow detailed guidance and reference. EMERGENCIES AND MALFUNCTIONS All the RFM aircraft emergency, caution and malfunction procedures are contained in the Emergencies and Malfunctions section. The emergency procedures are further deepened with considerations and guidance made available by experienced offshore pilots, instructors and flight test engineers. AUTOMATION AND MULTI CREW COOPERATION Leonardo Helicopters are modern and sophisticated aircrafts which employ automation to maintain high levels of safety and aircraft handling in all types of flight environments. The FCOM contains an accurate overview of automation usage and best practices throughout the entire flight operation. In addition, the manual contains a Multi Crew Cooperation section which reviews and examines crew responsibilities and interaction throughout all ground and flight operations in oder to assist flight crews in systems management . It provides recommended terminology that is embedded within crew communication tables for each specified procedure. This combination and organization facilitate a clearer cockpit communication and understanding of the flight crew. © Leonardo – Società per azioni This document contains information that is proprietary to Leonardo - Società per azioni and is supplied on the express condition that it may not be reproduced in whole or in part, or used for manufacture, or used for any purpose other than for which it is supplied. leonardocompany.com Please contact our Training Account Manager to discuss contents, scheduling and pricing at the following web address: http://www.leonardocompany.com/customer-support/elicotteri-helicopter/support/directory
