Over-voltage protection is incorporated which latches off regulator output after an over-voltage event. This unit is self protected against damage due to output (field) circuit being shorted to ground. A short will latch output off until reset. Rest of latch off caused by either over-voltage or shorted output is accomplished by momentary turn off of supply voltage.
