U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ORDER FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION 7910.4E National Policy Effective date: 04/12/2021 SUBJ: Airport Diagrams 1. Purpose of This Order. This order establishes qualifying criteria, guidelines, requirements, and responsible entities for the selection, development, construction, and maintenance of airport diagrams for public-use airports. Airport diagrams depict operational runways, runways under construction and closed runways, dimensions and orientation of runways, displaced thresholds, runway and taxiway surfaces, operational and closed taxiways, taxiway locations and designations, and airport facilities. Airport diagrams provide situational awareness for pilots, airport staff, and operators of airport ground vehicles in navigating runways, taxiways, and aprons.

2. Audience. This order applies to the following entities: Air Traffic Organization (ATO); Air Traffic Services (AJT), Flight Program Operations (AJF), Mission Support Services (AJV); Airports (ARP); state aviation agencies that handle block grants under the Airport Improvement Program, and limited military offices.

4. What This Order Cancels. This cancels Order 7910.4D, Airport Diagrams, dated May 3, 2010.

5. Explanation of Policy Changes. Updates the order to reflect changes in organizational titles and modernization of procedural and operational data requirements.

6. Criteria. All hard-surface public-use airports with Instrument Flight Rules procedures will have a published airport diagram. All information will be shown in accordance with Interagency Air Committee (IAC) 4 specifications https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_info/aeronav/iac / .

7. Other. If an airport does not qualify under the above criteria, the local Airports District Office may submit a request along with the required source documents to AJV-A Aeronautical Information Services, Airport Mapping team. The Airport Mapping team may contact the Runway Safety Program Office for further comments and concurrence.

8. Review. It is incumbent upon airport owners, managers, or other authorized airport proponents, e.g. air traffic control tower, contracted engineering firm representing the airport, to monitor their published airport information and submit revisions as necessary.

Submit all revisions resulting either from the Paragraph 8 Review or through Revisions via the FAA Aeronautical Information Portal ( https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_info/aeronav/Aero_Data / ) for Airport Data Changes or Aeronautical Chart Changes.

10. Maintenance. The Airport Mapping team will periodically revise airport diagrams based on the review of imagery and in accordance with IAC 4 specifications, for items (such as buildings and aprons) that are not included in the authoritative source database. These revisions will be coordinated with the airport owner, manager or other authorized airport proponent.
