NOTICE
FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION Effective Date: Air Traffic Organization Policy 0 6 / 0 3 /202 6 SUBJ : FAA Order JO 7210.632A, Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Occurrence Reporting, Appendix A, paragraph 3 1. Purpose of This Notice. This change updates Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations occurrence reporting.
2. Audience. This change affects anyone using Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Order JO 7210.632A, Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Occurrence Reporting .
3. Where Can I Find This Notice? This notice is available on the MyFAA Employee website at https://employees.faa.gov/tools_resources/orders_notices/ and the FAA public website at http://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/orders_notices .
4. Background. As UAS operations continue to mature throughout the National Airspace System, their mandatory occurrence reporting must expand to ensure the appropriate upward reporting and response by Air Traffic Control (ATC) facilities in the event that such operations are considered suspicious.
5. Information. UAS mandatory occurrence reporting criteria was updated to include suspicious activities, which when initiated by ATC facilities ensures compliance with additional agency reporting requirements in accordance with FAA Order JO 7210.3, Facility Operation and Administration .
6. Action. Amend FAA Order JO 7210.632A, Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Occurrence Reporting , Appendix A, paragraph 3 to read as follows: 3. Suspicious Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
a. Any instance where a pilot reports or Air Traffic Control (ATC) becomes aware of UAS activity that is conducted in an unsafe or hazardous manner. If the operation is determined to have been previously authorized, please note in the MOR, if known, the Certificate of Authorization (COA) number.
NOTE – If a UAS was involved in any other reportable event, the standard MOR template for each type of occurrence allows the submitter to indicate that a UAS was involved.
