Single Engine SERVICE BULLETIN SEB-27-04 TITLE FLIGHT CONTROLS - ELEVATOR TRIM STOP BLOCK RELOCATION EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 206H 20608001 thru 20608319 T206H T20608001 thru T20608953 The equivalent of this service document has been incorporated on production airplanes T20608954 and On. REASON To improve clearance between the elevator trim stop blocks and the elevator control cables. DESCRIPTION This service document provides instructions to move the position and orientation of the stop blocks. This will provide additional clearance from the cable turnbuckle. NOTE: Airplanes that have previously completed SB09-27-02 - Elevator Trim Stops Inspection or SB10-27-01 - Elevator Trim Stops Relocation, it is advisable to complete this service document because the stop block position and orientation are updated in this service document. COMPLIANCE RECOMMENDED. This service document should be accomplished at the next 100-hour or 12-month (annual-type) inspection. A service document published by Textron Aviation may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service document, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service document kit. Only with written authorization from Textron Aviation can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service document only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service document only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the document. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Textron Aviation is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Textron Aviation-issued service document or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Textron Aviation. PUBLICATIONS AFFECTED Cessna Model 206H/T206H Maintenance Manual ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that the airplane is electrically grounded. B. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. C. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. D. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them. E. Put a support stand under the tail tie-down ring. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 7, Jacking - Maintenance Practices.) F. Remove the rear seat. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Rear Seat - Maintenance Practices.) Single Engine SERVICE BULLETIN SEB-27-04 G. Remove the baggage curtain. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Interior Upholstery - Maintenance Practices.) 2. Remove the travel stop blocks from the elevator trim cables. Keep the stop blocks and bolts. Discard the bushings and the nuts. 3. Install the stop blocks as follows: A. Wipe the inside of the stop blocks and the outside of the bushings with a clean lint free rag dampened with isopropyl alcohol. (1) Wipe dry with a clean lint free rag before the isopropyl alcohol evaporates. B. Place the elevator in the neutral position. C. Place the elevator trim tab in the neutral position. NOTE: Split the nonfaired difference between the inboard and outboard ends. The trim pointer should be in the takeoff position. D. (Refer to Figure 1.) Put one 0411523 Stop Block (Stop Block One) on the left cable 5.25-inches Aft of the clevis. NOTE: The left cable should be within the rounded slot of the stop block and the right cable should be within the slot with the bolt hole on the outboard side of the right cable. (1) Slide one 0411524-0 Bushing over the left cable and rotate so the slot of the bushing is down. (2) Apply a drop of U064070 Adhesive (Loctite 495) to the outer diameter of the 0411524-0 Bushing. NOTE: When the stop block is tightened, it will squeeze the bushing so only one or two drops
