Multi-engine SERVICE LETTER MANDATORY MEL-54-03 TITLE NACELLES/PYLONS - ENGINE NACELLE FITTING REPLACEMENT EFFECTIVITY This service document applies to the airplanes that follow and have SK402-47 installed. MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 402C 402C0001 thru 402C1020 that have SK402-47 - Lower Front Wing Spar Cap Inspection/Modification (Original issue, Revision A or B) installed. 414A 414A0001 thru 414A1212 that have SK402-47 - Lower Front Wing Spar Cap Inspection/Modification (Original issue, Revision A or B) installed. REASON Replace nacelle fittings 5292029-9, 10, -11 -12, -21, -22, -23, and -24 Nacelle fittings with higher flight hours can fatigue and crack more easily. An undetected crack can cause the nacelle fitting to break which could result in flight instability. DESCRIPTION This service document provides instructions to calculate the flight hours for each 5292029 Nacelle Fitting, determine if the nacelle fitting must be replaced and reference to the maintenance manual for replacement instructions. COMPLIANCE MANDATORY. This service document must be accomplished on each nacelle fitting as listed in the table that follows. The Comply with Replacement time for the 5292029 Nacelle Fitting starts accumulating upon receipt of this service document. The inspections required by MEL-54-02 Rev 3 (or later revision) must continue for each 5292029 Nacelle Fitting until that 5292029 Nacelle Fitting is replaced and this service bulletin is complied with. NOTE: To find the 5292029 Nacelle Fitting Hours, look in the airplane logbook to find the airplane flight hours for the compliance with Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2005-12-13 with the installation of SK402-47 - Lower Front Wing Spar Cap Inspection/Modification.
