7-1 P 4 CIRRUS SR2X Service Bulletin Number: SB2X-76-05 Issued: 29 Oct 2024 SNS SUBJECT: 76-10 POWER CONTROL - Upper Power Lever Inspection and Replacement 1. COMPLIANCE Mandatory: Cirrus Aircraft considers this Service Bulletin to be MANDATORY. Accomplish this Service Bulletin within 10 flight hours. Compliance time begins upon receipt of this Service Bulletin. 2. EFFECTIVITY SR20 Serials 2016 thru 9749 w/ Perspective or Perspective+ Avionics, w/ 2000 flight hours or greater SR22 Serials 2979, 2992, 3002, 3026 thru 9749 w/ Perspective or Perspective+ Avionics, w/ 2000 flight hours or greater SR22T Serials 0001 thru 9749 w/ Perspective or Perspective+ Avionics, w/ 2000 flight hours or greater 3. APPROVAL FAA approval has been obtained on all technical data in this Service Bulletin that affects type design. 4. PURPOSE Cirrus has received reports that the upper power lever may crack if repeatedly subjected to high input forces when the power lever is at the forward or aft stop. Cirrus recommends inspection and if required, replacement of the upper power lever. 5. DESCRIPTION This Service Bulletin contains instructions to inspect the upper power lever and, if necessary, replace upper power lever if cracks are found. 6. WARRANTY INFORMATION For aircraft under warranty, Cirrus will cover all parts and labor costs for this Service Bulletin if the work is accomplished within the Compliance time period and the work is performed at a Cirrus Authorized Service Center. 7. MATERIAL INFORMATION The following parts may be required to comply with this Service Bulletin. Parts can be obtained from a Cirrus Authorized Service Center or Parts Distributor. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS A. Acquire necessary tools, equipment, and supplies. Description P/N or Spec. Supplier Purpose 10X Magnifier (minimum) - Any Source Inspect upper power lever. Dye Penetrant - Any Source Detect cracks. B. Remove key from ignition. C. Set BAT 1, BAT 2, and AVIONICS switches to OFF positions. D. Remove LH and RH aft console trim. (Refer to AMM 25-10) E. Remove upper power lever. (Refer to AMM 76-10) Note: Two-step evaluation is required as too much light can create a strong reflection off the aluminum surface which may obscure fine cracks. F. Use magnifier to visually inspect upper power lever for damage. (See Figure 01) Note: Minor scratching/scuffing is acceptable. (1) If cracks are detected, no further inspection is required. Return damaged component to Cirrus for analysis. Install new upper power lever (item 1). (Refer to AMM 76-10) Cirrus Aircraft Attn: Field Sustaining 4600 Stebner Rd Duluth, MN 55803 (2) If no cracks are detected, proceed to next step. CAUTION: Do not etch surface prior to inspection. G. Perform fluorescent dye penetrant inspection per ASTM E1417, Type I, Method A, Sensitivity Level 3. H. Allow dye penetrant to dwell for 10 minutes minimum. CAUTION: Do not spray cleaner onto part directly. I. When cleaning excess dye penetrant, spray cleaner onto clean rag then wipe part. EFFECTIVITY: See Effectivity Section, Page 1 SB2X-76-05 Page 2 29 Oct 2024 CIRRUS SERVICE BULLETIN MODEL SR2X SERIES J. Allow developer to dwell for 10 minutes minimum. (See Figure 02) (1) If cracks are detected, return damaged component to Cirrus for analysis. Install new upper power lever (item 1). (Refer to AMM 76-10) (2) If no cracks are detected, install existing upper power lever. (Refer to AMM 76-10) K. Visually inspect engine side stops (bolts) of throttle cable assembly for bending. If bent, remove and replace according to engine manufacturer's maintenance manual. L. SR20 Serials 2220, 2339 thru 9749, SR22 Serials 4435 thru 9749: Perform Adjustment/Test - Governor Rigging. (Refer to AMM 61-20) M. SR20 Serials 2016 thru 2219, 2221 thru 2338, except 2220, SR22 Serials 2979, 2992, 3002, 3026 thru 4434, and SR22T Serials 0001 & subs: Perform Adjustment/Test - Throttle Control Cable. (Refer to AMM 76-10) N. Install LH and RH aft console trim. (Refer to AMM 25-10) O. Insert AMM temporary revision, Power Lever Inspection and Replacement (item 2), (item 3), (item 4), or (item 5). P. Complete airplane records by noting compliance with SB2X-76-05 in Aircraft Logbook.
