SERVICE BULLETIN 59-000-2 1. PLANNING INFORMATION A. Effectivity: Dassault Falcon 10 aircraft which have installed R-134a Upgrade Kit SZ59K-R134 before April 15, 2004. B. Reason: Re-route the No. 8 Discharge flex line under the No. 10 Suction flex line at the compressor. C. Description: This Service Bulletin gives instructions to re-route the flex lines. D. Compliance: Compliance is recommended if you are experiencing compressor head gasket problems. Perform at next service when the system refrigerant is discharged. Service Bulletin 59-000-1, Rev. 7 includes this change. E. Approval: This Service Bulletin does not effect any FAA approvals or certifications. F. Manpower: Labor is estimated to be an additional 0.5 man-hours over the time to discharge and charge the system. G. Material cost and availability: No additional parts are required to comply with this service bulletin. The SZ59-050-1(X) Receiver-Dryer (Reservoir, Tank) should be replaced as routine maintenance item anytime the system is opened to the atmosphere. The end user is responsible for all cost. H. Equipment and Tooling: Refer to ZEE Systems, Inc Service Bulletin 59-000-1 for service instructions. I. Weight and Balance: No effect. J. Electrical Load Data: No effect. References: Refer to ZEE Systems, Inc Service Bulletin 59-000-1 for servicing instructions. II ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS CAUTION The air conditioning system is under pressure. Appropriate safety measures should be taken when servicing this equipment. Only trained personnel with safety equipment should perform these duties. NOTE It is unlawful to release R-12 to the atmosphere. Use approved Recovery/Recycle equipment to capture the R-12 refrigerant. Use only lawful means to dispose of the recovered R-12. Check with local agencies for approved disposal procedures. NOTE Cap all lines to prevent contaminants and moisture from entering the system. 1 of 2 59-000-2 APRIL 2004 Rev. IR, 4-15-04 SERVICE BULLETIN 59-000-2 1. Re-route the flex lines as follows: a. Disconnect the SZ58-2008 No. 8 (discharge) flex line at the compressor. This line runs from the compressor toward the condenser (runs to the aft). (Refer to Falcon 10 IPC 21-52-01, item –305). You may also need to loosen the B-nut at the pressure switch. b. Disconnect the SZ58-20010 No. 10 (suction) flex line at the compressor. This line runs from the compressor toward the evaporator (runs forward). (Refer to Falcon 10 IPC 21-52-01, item –255). See flushing instructions B, 1., b. c. (Recommended) Replace the SZ59-050-1Receiver-Dryer (Reservoir, Tank). (Refer to Falcon 10 IPC 21-52-01, item –285). d. On the top of the compressor align the No. 8 Discharge fitting ZEE P/N: 022-21960M as required to fit the hose to the compressor. Snug the bolt down; do not tighten at this time. e. Connect Hose Assembly P/N: SZ59-2008-1 to the compressor Apply a light film of refrigerant oil to the O-Ring to help seating. Route this Hose under the No. 10 Suction Hose at the compressor. Create as much of a downward loop in the flex line just before the compressor as possible. Tighten the hose B-nut connection at the pressure switch. Tighten the bolt holding the 022-21960M fitting on the compressor. Use a 5/16 12 point socket. Torque the 5/16 torx-head bolt to 17-25 ft.-lb. (23.0-33-9 N-m). f. Connect and align Hose Assembly P/N: SZ59-20010-1 to the compressor Route this Hose over the No. 8 Discharge Hose. Apply a light film of refrigerant oil to the O-Ring to help seating. g. Tighten all connections. Torque the two 5/16 torx-head bolts on the compressor fittings to 17-25 ft.-lb. (23.0-33.9 N-m). 2. Check: Check the system for leaks. 3. Service the system with refrigerant.
