(3) Manufacturer Part Number – Honeywell AML 21Series, 31 Series and 32 Series as listed in original design data for the switch installation or applicable supplemental type certificate master drawing list. (4) Spare Parts affected: None. B. Concurrent Requirements Not applicable. C. Reason Filter P/N ASU-412-MDAN-1 is used to filter non-flight critical medical annunciators. It has been identified that, for some aircraft, procedures described in the Aircraft Specific ICA Appendices are inadequate to facilitate the replacement/installation of filter onto the face of a medical annunciator/switch. In this case, the procedure for blocking out incompatible light from the sides of the annunciator/switch specifies the incorrect material. Using the incorrect material may foul the function of the switch. Use of incorrect material does not introduce an unsafe condition to the aircraft. D. Description Medical annunciator/switch NVIS filtration procedure update. E. Compliance The inspection/repair of annunciator/switches shall be accomplished at the next Annual or 100 hour inspection, whichever occurs first. F. Approval The technical content of this document is approved under the authority of the Seattle Aircraft Certification Office. G. Visually inspect the aircraft and determine if the medical lighted annunciator/switch assembly has been edge sealed with black RTV sealant (1) Carefully remove the illuminated button cap by firmly lifting it out of the housing. Visually inspect the sides of the illuminated button cap and insure that RTV sealant has not been applied to any part of the assembly. (2) If it is determined that black RTV was used to edge seal the switch assembly, use a plastic scraper and remove all traces of sealant. (3) Apply finish to the exterior surfaces of the illuminated button cap to block out incompatible light. Utilize ASU Modification Specification ASP-UV-2, steps 3-5 to correctly apply lusterless flat black paint to the four external side surfaces of the illuminated button cap. 4632 W.
