MANDATORY SERVICE BULLETIN Z 42/43a Z 142/39a Z 43/38a -------------------------------------------------------------------- Engineering Aspects are Czech CAA Approved 1. DATE: June 30, 1998 2. MODELS AFFECTED: All Z 42, Z 42M, Z 42MU, Z 142 and Z 43 aircraft. 3. SUBJECT: Change in wheels and brakes service life limitation. Wheels and brakes service life is not determined. The service life depends on their real condition based on required regular inspections. 4. CORRECTION: Revision of aircraft documents - service life limitation change and revision of required wheels and brakes inspection. 5. TIME OF COMPLIANCE: Immediately after receiving the bulletin. 6. CORRECTION PERFORMED BY: The Operator. 7. EXPENSES COVERED BY: No expenses arise. 8. PROCEDURE: 8.1 If the wheels and brakes have been delivered with Certificates („OSVĚDČENÍ“ or „SVIDETELSTVO“): Cancel the following sentence „ Základní životnost kola je 6000 přistání (asi 1800 let. hodin), přičemž je nutné po každém 1500 přistání provést částečnou opravu dle předpisu pro údržbu letounu“ in article No. 5 of the Certificate for the K 22-0100-7 Wheel, K 22-0200-7 Brake and K 23-0000-7 Wheel. Cancell the following sentence „Technická doba života je 6000 přistání při dodržování provozních předpisů a provádění předepsaných prohlídek“ in article No. 3 of the Certificate for the K 22-1200-7 Brake. Service life is not limited and is determined by real condition of wheels and brakes based on regular inspections required by Aircraft Maintenance Manual (see Mandatory Bulletin Z 42/43a, Z 142/39a, Z 43/38a). 8.2 Replace the old pages with enclosed new pages dated on May 25, 1998 in the following manuals: - Opravárenská příručka Z 42, Z 42M, Z 42MU: pages 23/24, 212, 275/276, 277/278, 279/280, 281/282, 282A/282B; - Opravárenská příručka 142: pages 23/24, 213/214, 277/278, 279/280, 281/282, 283/284, 284A/284B; - Opravárenská příručka Z 43 (vydání 1980): pages 22, 23, 72, 206, 256, 257/258, 259/260, 261/262, 262A/262B, 263; - Opravárenská příručka Z 43 (vydání 1996): pages 2-10, 3-55, 5-2, 5-70, 5-71, 5-73, 5-75, 5-77; - Manual de reparation de l´avion Z 43: pages 2-9, 3-51, 5-3, 5-80, 5-81, 5-84, 5-86, 5-88, 5-89; - Manual de reparation de l´avion Z 142: pages 24, 229/230, 297/298, 299/300, 301/302, 303/304, 305/306, 306A/306B; - Reparaturhandbuch der Flugzeuge Z 42, Z 42M, Z 42MU: pages 24, 224, 287/288, 289/290, 291/292, 293/294, 294A/294B. 9.
