MANDATORY SERVICE BULLETIN Z 142/40a, Z 43/39a Engineering Aspects are Czech CAA Approved 1. DATE: May 31, 1998 2. MODELS AFFECTED: The following Z 142 and Z 43 aircraft, where the hoses in the Pitot-static system have been replaced by manufacturer with silicon hoses 5x2 068.9 ČSN 34 6554. Z 142 aircraft S/N 0229, 0262, 0266, 0286, 0327, 0334, 0341, 0357, 0358, 0363, 0371, 0379, 0384, 0401, 0408, 0417 a 0467. Z 43 aircraft S/N 0007, 0024, 0031, 0044, 0073 a 0081 3. SUBJECT: Possibility of passage loss through the hose connected to the Pitot-static probe caused by excessive deformation of this hose and resulting in the malfunction of the speed measuring system. 4. CORRECTION: Modifying Pitot-static system of the aircraft. 5. TIME OF COMPLIANCE: At the next 100-hour or annual inspection of the aircraft. 6. CORRECTION PERFORMED The Operator. AND EXPENSES COVERED For the aircraft where the hoses were replaced by the BY: Manufacturer, the necessary material will be supplied by the Manufacturer free of charge in the appendix of this bulletin. 7. PROCEDURE: 1. Unscrew the three bolts fastening the Pitot-static probe, slip the probe out of the holder (at the same time loosen the inlet hoses from the other side of the holder). 2. Slip the inlet hoses of Pitot and static pressure out of the teflon reducing parts. Insert the distance spirals L 242.8251-00.14 (pos. 1) inside both the hoses. The hoses connect back to the teflon distance pieces struck on the probe. 3. Slide the Pitot-static probe back into the holder carefully pulling the inlet hoses step by step from the other end of the holder at the same time. Screw the three bolts fastening the Pitot-static probe. 4. Check the leakage of the Pitot-static system. Page 1 of 2 MANDATORY SERVICE BULLETIN Z 142/40a, Z 43/39a 8.
