No. IA IB 25-01 February 10, 2025 Page 1 of 1 Subject: Single-Engine Scooper Numbering and Identification Change Area of Concern: Aviation Operations Distribution: All Aviation Personnel Discussion: In spring of 2024 a naming convention change from Fire Boss to Single-Engine Scooper was approved in order to recognize other aircraft platforms that may also possess amphibious float systems ( IA IB 24-04 , Name Change: Fire Boss to Single-Engine Scooper). In conjunction with this change, single- engine scoopers will be moving to S-400 series identifiers in 2025. Contractors are currently in the process of changing their previous FB-200 series numbering to the newly assigned S-400 identifiers. Once the process is complete, contractors must submit call sign changes to Automated Flight Following (AFF) at aff.gov . The BLM SEAT Coordinator is working with the National Interagency Coordination Center (NICC) to ensure Interagency Resource Ordering Capability (IROC) and other dispatch related databases reflect this change.

Single-Engine Scoopers will utilize the call sign of Scooper followed by their respective 400 series number.

Multiengine Scoopers will continue to utilize their call sign of Scooper followed by their 200 series number.
