Get a friend or prepare a suitable trestle to support the end of the wing, as this installation requires the removal of the wing strut top mounting bolt! The proceedure for the A32 is slightly different from that for the A22LS – ensure you are following the correct one! These instructions are for the A32. A32 Vixxen 1. Remove the upper strut fairing retaining screws and slide the fairing a short way down the strut. Beware scratching the strut or fairing! 2. Loosen the inboard bolt of the three (3) which anchor the strut/wing bracket and remove the nut and washer. Pull the bolt out of the bracket. Note: A32 bolts are installed from the bottom side of the strut, with the nut and washer on the top. A22LS bolts are installed from the top, with the nut on the bottom side.. 3. Ensure the wing is properly supported and then remove the strut-wing mounting bolt. These are usually installed from the front, towards the back. Carefully lower the strut a short way (do not lower to the floor or you may damage the inboard strut/fuselage fitting!) and remove the strut fairing. 5. While the strut is lowered, insert the supplied new inboard AN4-26A bolt, pushing through from the top into the strut. Do not yet add the tie down ring or nut. 6. Temporarily replace the strut and strut-wing mounting bolt, so the wing is supported. 7. Cut a small slot in the top part of the fairing where it meets the strut – just enough to allow you to put a spanner on the inboard bolt head which will hold the tie-down ring. See pictures below 8. Again support the wing and remove the strut-wing mounting bolt. 9. Slide the fairing back onto the strut, ensuring it is orientated correctly 10. Replace the strut-wing mount bolt from front to back – don't forget the safety pin! Tighten to torque 6 Nm (approx 4.5 ft-pounds). Do not overtighten! 11. Replace and screw the top strut fairing in place. 12. Add the tie-down ring to the new bolt, plus 2x washers & nut and tighten to torque 6 Nm (approx 4.5 ft-pounds). Do not overtighten! Note: DO NOT lose the bushing in the tie-down ring! 13. Repeat the proceedure for the opposite side. 14. Install the tail tie down ring on top of the tail skid as shown, using the supplied bolt, washers and nut.
