Description
The bulletin describes an issue where the aileron balance cable may rub against the bridle cable guard during autopilot operation. It provides a solution for ensuring continued airworthiness by installing a fairlead.
Required Actions
Mechanics must inspect the clearance between the aileron balance cable and the roll servo bridle cable guard within 12 months or 100 flight hours. A minimum clearance of 0.25 inches is required. If clearance is less than this, installation of a Dynon-provided Bridle Cable Fairlead kit is necessary.
Installation Procedure
The bulletin outlines a detailed procedure for installing the Bridle Cable Fairlead kit, including steps for accessing the roll servo, marking and drilling the mount bracket, and ensuring proper installation and calibration of the servo.
Material Information
The bulletin specifies the parts included in the Bridle Cable Fairlead kit, including part numbers and quantities for each component.
Compliance Reporting
After completing the required actions, mechanics must report compliance with the service bulletin to Dynon Certified Technical Support.
Safety notes
- Ensure all actions are performed by an appropriately-rated certified mechanic.
- Maintain records of compliance as required by 14 CFR 91.417.

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: 104909-000 Bonanza 35 Roll Servo Fairlead, Rev A Original Bulletin: May 8, 2024 PLEASE READ THIS BULLETIN IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE CONTACTING DYNON AVIONICS Description In Bonanza 35 aircraft, during some phases of flight with autopilot engaged, the aileron balance cable may contact and rub the bridle cable guard. This technical service bulletin provides a means for installing a fairlead in aircraft where rubbing may pose issues for continued airworthiness. Applicability and Affected Equipment This bulletin only affects the following certified aircraft models. • Beechcraft Bonanza 35 series aircraft with a roll servo kit shipped prior to 05/08/2024. Required Actions Within 12 months after the effective date of this service bulletin or 100 flight hours, whichever comes first, inspect to ensure a minimum clearance of 0.25" between the aileron balance cable and the roll servo bridle cable guard. Reference the Autopilot Servo Installation and Maintenance Manual, Bonanza 35, Revision F document at dynoncertified.com/docs for location and access to the roll servo. If there is less than 0.25" clearance, the Dynon-provided Bridle Cable Fairlead kit must be installed. To request a kit, fill out and submit the following form: Bonanza 35 Series Roll Servo Service Bulletin Parts Request Form. If there is more than 0.25" clearance, no action is required other than adding an entry in the aircraft record stating the inspection was completed and service bulletin compliance was met. This action must be performed by an appropriately-rated certified mechanic and must be entered into the aircraft records showing compliance with this service bulletin in accordance with 14 CFR 43.9(a) and the instructions in this service bulletin. The record must be maintained as required by 14 CFR 91.417. To install the Bridle Cable Fairlead kit: Reference the Autopilot Servo Installation and Maintenance Manual, Bonanza 35, Revision F document at dynoncertified.com/docs for procedure below. 1. Access the area where roll servo is installed (see Section 6.1.1 of manual for reference). 2. Mark location of bridle cable clamps on aileron control cable for ease of re-installation. 3. Tape exiting ends of bridle cable to servo capstan, so bridle cable will not unravel. 4. Disconnect bridle cable clamps from aileron control cable. 5. Unfasten mount bracket from base bracket (see Figure 7 in manual for reference). 6. Remove roll servo mount bracket assembly from aircraft. 7. Mark and drill mount bracket as detailed in Figure 3 in manual. 8. Attach fairlead to mount bracket with supplied hardware as detailed in Figure 3 in manual. Ensure fairlead is flush and square against the servo capstan guard. 9. Install roll servo mount bracket assembly as outlined in "To install the roll servo mount bracket assembly" procedure in Section 8.1.3 of manual. 10. Perform servo calibration and test procedures (see Sections 8.4 and 8.5 of manual). 11. Report compliance of this service bulletin to Dynon Certified Technical Support at dynoncertified.com/contact.
