The purpose of the VG system is to improve stall characteristics and to reduce stall and Vmca speeds through control of the boundary layer airflow. Although the VG system reduces stall and Vmca speeds, the pilot is to fly by reference to the performance specifications in the original Pilot’s Operating Handbook and FAA approved Airplane Flight Manual to provide an increased margin of safety. SECTION II – LIMITATIONS 103 vortex generators constitute the minimum requirement. Flight is prohibited with less than 103 vortex generators present. SECTION III – EMERGENCY PROCEDURES No change in basic flight manual. SECTION IV – NORMAL PROCEDURES No change in basic flight manual. SECTION V – PERFORMANCE The vortex generators installed on the upper surface of the wing have been shown to reduce stall and Vmca speeds. The present AFM/POH speeds and performance data are to be used in order to provide an increased margin of safety. SECTION VI – WEIGHT AND BALANCE / EQUIPMENT LIST No change in basic flight manual.
