REVISIONS & AMENDMENTS All ICA changes will be submihed to the FAA for review and acceptance by the AircraZ Cer=fica=on Office and the AircraZ Evalua=on Group prior to issuance to the field. Revisions to this ICA may not be distributed without prior FAA acceptance. Once an ICA revision is accepted by the FAA it shall be distributed to all registered owners by either U.S. mail or internet email at the elec=on of the STC holder. The STC holder shall retain a current list of all registered owners. This list shall be made available to the FAA for any Con=nued Opera=onal Safety issues that arise concerning the STC. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION Textron aircraZ modified in accordance with the applicable Modifica=on Instruc=ons (reference 1.1.3 or 1.1.4) include the removal of the factory eyelet style tail =e-down and the installa=on of a replacement tail =e-down structure as shown below. The tail =e-down replacement eliminates the single point ahachment associated with the factory =e-down and u=lizes mul=ple ahachment points at the two most rearward bulkheads. The tail =e-down replacement u=lizes the large hole shown and labeled in Figure 31 as the =e-down loca=on. Figure 31, Replacement Tail Tie-Down Installa?on 4. SPECIAL OPERATING INFORMATION Refer to the applicable aircraZ Pilot’s Opera=ng Handbook for any special opera=ng instruc=ons and all aircraZ opera=ng limita=ons. TROUBLESHOOTING For trouble shoo=ng of the replacement tail =e-down installa=on, refer to the applicable Modifica=on Instruc=ons (reference 1.1.3 and 1.1.4). 7. PARTS REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT ▪ Installa=on and Removal: Refer to the applicable Modifica=on Instruc=ons (reference 1.1.3 or 1.1.4) ▪ Parts: Refer to the applicable Modifica=on Instruc=ons sec=on 1.4 (reference 1.1.3 or 1.1.4) 8. PLACARDS AND MARKINGS The tail =e-down must remain permanently marked on both sides, with indelible ink or paint, the text: “ TIE DOWN HERE” with the arrow poin=ng to the large hole as shown in Figure 81. Text Height: 0.25” minimum NOTE: If op=onal Tie-Down Reinforcement assembly is installed, the “ TIE DOWN HERE” text must be permanently marked on both sides of the Tie-Down Reinforcement assembly, allowing the text to be legible with the op=onal assembly installed. INSPECTIONS The following inspec=ons, tests, and/or procedures must be included in the basic maintenance plan for the applicable aircraZ modified in accordance with the Modifica=on Instruc=ons (reference 1.1.3 and 1.1.4) to ensure con=nued airworthiness of the aircraZ. NOTE: For all cases in which the instruc=ons in this document and the AircraZ Maintenance Manual are in conflict, the most restric=ve instruc=ons take precedence. NOTE: The =me limits and maintenance checks recorded in this sec=on are for the minimum requirements for airplanes operated under normal condi=ons. For airplanes that operate in areas of bad condi=ons, such as high salt coastal environments, areas of high heat and humidity, areas where industrial or other airborne pollutants are present, extreme cold, unimproved surfaces, etc., the =me limits shall be changed as necessary. 10.1. Inspec/on Requirements 10.1.1. Three basic types of inspec=ons are available as defined below: 10.1.2. As required by Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regula=ons Part 91.409(a), all civil airplanes of U.S. registry must have a complete examina=on each 12 calendar months. In addi=on to the required annual inspec=on, airplanes operated commercially (for hire) must also have an inspec=on each 100 hours of opera=on as required by Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regula=ons Part 91.409(b). 10.1.3. Instead of the above requirements, an airplane can be examined with progressive inspec=on program that agrees with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regula=ons Part 91.409(d), which allows the work be divided into smaller opera=ons that can be accomplished in a shorter =me period. 10.1.4. If an airplane is being operated under a Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regula=ons Part 135 Cer=ficate, the operator may choose to use an Approved AircraZ Inspec=on Program. 10.2. Inspec/on Notes 10.2.1. When specified inspec=ons in this sec=on are accomplished, a general visual inspec=on of the adjacent areas must also be accomplished while access is available. These general visual inspec=ons may reveal condi=ons which require addi=onal maintenance ac=vity. 10.2.2. Inspec=on items are provided for specified components and systems. The inspec=on program must incorporate professionalism and good judgment by all inspec=on personnel. The technician must ensure all components and systems are in good condi=on and maintained to the highest standards of safety. At each annual and/or 100-hour inspec=on check the tail =e-down installa=on for: • Loose hardware o If loose, =ghten in accordance with the modifica=on instruc=ons (reference 1.1.3 and 1.1.4). • Missing hardware o If missing, replace in accordance with the modifica=on instruc=ons (reference 1.1.3 and 1.1.4). • Legibility of placard as defined in sec=on 8, above. o If placard is damaged, repair in accordance with sec=on 8. • Sealant (op=onal) o If sealant is damaged and/or no longer forming a complete seal around the perimeter of the =e-down or tailcone fairings, remove damaged sealant, clean affected area, and reapply sealant in accordance with applicable Modifica=on Instruc=ons (reference 1.1.3 or 1.1.4). o If sealant was not applied at installa=on, it may be applied at any =me in accordance with applicable Modifica=on Instruc=ons (reference 1.1.3 or 1.1.4). • Tie-Down Reinforcement assembly (op=onal) o The Tie-Down Reinforcement assembly is an op=onal assembly and may be installed, removed, or replaced in accordance with applicable Modifica=on Instruc=ons (reference 1.1.3 or 1.1.4). • Rudder Control Cable Interference o If modified per Modifica=on Instruc=ons (reference 1.1.3 or 1.1.4) – at the tailcone fairings, if any wear or damage is observed on the rudder control cable at the loca=on of the kit screws, nutplates or rivets, replace the rudder control cable following approved guidance of the applicable Textron/Cessna AMM or FAA AC 43.13-1B. AIRWORTHINESS LIMITATIONS The Airworthiness Limita=ons Sec=on is FAA approved and specifies maintenance required under Title 14 Code of Federal Regula=ons Parts 43.16 and 91.403 unless an alterna=ve program has been FAA approved. There are no changes to the Airworthiness Limita=ons Sec=on as a result of this modifica=on.
