Applicable Models

This STC propeller installation also applies to Cessna 180K, 182(Q,R), and F182Q aircraft equipped with a Continental O-470-U engine. This STC was shown to be compatible with aircraft & installations of a Continental O- 470-U/TS engine rated at 250 HP @ 2,600 RPM. INTRODUCTION – GENERAL DESCRIPTION The subject STC approves replacement of the original propeller and spinner models listed in the airplane Type Certificate Data Sheet (5A6, 3A13, or A42EU) with a model DHC- G2YF-1BFP/F8068+2 on all Applicable Models. A detailed description of propeller construction and function may be found in Hartzell Manual 115N that is supplied with each STC kit. The information contained in these Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) supplements or supersedes the information provided in the applicable Cessna 180 or 182 Service manual only in those areas listed. When applicable, specific paragraph numbers from the Cessna Service manual are referenced. Current ICA and service letters are maintained and distributed via www.hartzellprop.com. CHAPTER 4 – AIRWORTHINESS LIMITATIONS NOTE: The Airworthiness Limitations section is FAA approved and specifies maintenance required under 14 CFR §43.16 and §91.403 unless an alternative program has been FAA approved. There are no new (or additional) airworthiness limitations associated with this equipment and/or installation. CHAPTER 5 – TIME LIMITS / MAINTENANCE CHECKS All required maintenance, inspections, time intervals and procedures are provided in Hartzell Manual 115N (Hartzell Propeller Owner’s Manual) provided with each propeller. The STC propeller is an 82” diameter, two-blade, constant-speed propeller. The STC propeller should be installed in accordance with STC Installation Instructions INST-012317. All required maintenance, inspections, time intervals and procedures are provided in Hartzell Manual 115N (Hartzell Propeller Owner’s Manual) provided with each propeller. Recommended Time-Between-Overhaul (TBO) limits for the STC propeller are provided in Hartzell Service Letter HC-SL-61-61Y. Propeller overhaul must be accomplished by an approved Propeller Repair Station. Spinner This STC utilizes an aluminum spinner as detailed in the table below. The spinner assembly includes an aluminum aft bulkhead and a single-piece spinner dome. The spinner dome is supported by an integral forward bulkhead that engages the propeller cylinder. A single row of screws attaches the dome to the aft bulkhead. Refer to Hartzell Manual 127 for maintenance requirements and procedures of the aluminum spinner.
