Certification Basis

The certification basis for the Cessna 208 and 208B is outlined in Type Certificate Data Sheet A37CE issued by the FAA. This establishes the standards that the aircraft must meet to be considered airworthy.

Eligible Serial Numbers

For specific serial numbers that are eligible under this certificate, operators should refer to the US FAA TCDS A37CE.

Conditions and Limitations

The document specifies that 208 model aircraft equipped with PT6A-114A or PT6A-114 engines, and 208B model aircraft with PT6A-114A, PT6A-114, or PT6A-140 engines, are eligible for Approved Single Engine Turbine Powered Aircraft (ASETPA) operations. However, this does not automatically grant approval for such operations.

Modification Requirements

If the aircraft has been modified from its standard production configuration, or if it is not listed as eligible, additional airworthiness assessments by CASA will be required before it can be considered for ASETPA operations.

Safety notes

  • Aircraft modifications may affect airworthiness certification and require further assessment.
