Citation SERVICE LETTER SL525A-21-03 TITLE AIR CONDITIONING - AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR MOTOR FAN REPLACEMENT EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 525A (CJ2) -0001 thru -0244 525A (CJ2+) -0300 thru -0524 REASON An improved fan blade is available for the air conditioning compressor motor. DESCRIPTION This service letter provides parts and instructions to install an improved air conditioning fan. COMPLIANCE OPTIONAL. This service document can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner. A service document published by Textron Aviation may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service document, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service document kit. Only with written authorization from Textron Aviation can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service document only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service document only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the document. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Textron Aviation is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Textron Aviation-issued service document or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Textron Aviation. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that the airplane is electrically grounded. B. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. C. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. D. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them. 2. Get access to the air conditioning compressor. A. Place DC POWER BATT switch (SI022) in the OFF position. B. Disengage AIR COND circuit breaker, located on the left cockpit circuit breaker panel. C. Open aft baggage compartments 321BL and 321CC and remove aft baggage compartment panel 322CT. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification - Description and Operation.) D. Disengage CURRENT LIMITER circuit breaker located on the aft power J-Box in the tailcone of the airplane. 3. Install a new K1134608-3 Fan Blade Kit. (Refer to the Enviro Systems Incorporated Operating, Servicing, And Component Maintenance Manual With Illustrated Parts List (CJ2/3), 21-00-08, Revision 21 or later.) A. Remove and discard the current 1134608-1 Fan Blade. B. Install the new K1134608-3 Fan Blade Kit. 4. Remove the maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery. 5. Engage the CURRENT LIMITER circuit breaker located on the aft power J-Box in the tailcone of the airplane. 6. Engage AIR COND circuit breaker, located on the left cockpit circuit breaker panel. 7. Place DC POWER BATT switch (SI022) in the ON position. 8. Do an air conditioning system test. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 21, Air Conditioning System - Adjustment/Test (R134a.) 9. Install aft baggage compartment panel 322CT and close aft baggage compartments 321BL and 321CC. Make an entry in the airplane logbook that states compliance and method of compliance with this service document.
