Engine Fail During Takeoff Roll

In the event of an engine failure during the takeoff roll, pilots should immediately reduce throttle to idle and apply brakes to stop the aircraft.

Engine Failure Immediately After Takeoff

If the engine fails immediately after takeoff, maintain an airspeed of 75 KIAS. If flaps are set to 10°, the airspeed should be 70 KIAS.

Engine Failure During Flight

For an engine failure during flight, the best glide speed is 76 KIAS. Pilots should set the fuel selector valve to both, turn on the fuel pump, and set the mixture control to rich if a restart has not occurred.

Fire During Start on Ground

In case of a fire during engine start, the magnetos switch should be turned to start. If the engine fails to start, throttle should be set to full open, mixture to idle cutoff, and the fuel selector valve turned off.

Electrical Fire in Flight

For an electrical fire in flight, turn off the standby battery switch and master switch, close vents, and activate the fire extinguisher.

Safety notes

  • Always follow emergency procedures promptly to ensure safety.
  • Ensure that all switches are in the correct position during emergencies.
