Set landing light switch to OFF position. C. Set BAT 1, BAT 2, and AVIONICS master switches to OFF positions. D. Remove engine cowling. (Refer to AMM 71-10) E. Disconnect battery 1. (Refer to AMM 24-30) F. Perform Removal-HID Landing Light Ballast. (Refer to AMM 33-40) G. Modify LH Lower Cowl. (See Figure 02) Note: Verify template is printed to scale. Cut out template on dashed line and remove shaded area of template, leaving line. (1) Place scaled template over existing landing light installation area. (2) Verify measurements. (a) Measure 13.04 inches (33.12 cm) down from WL100.0, and mark. (b) Find intersection of WL100.0 and BL0.0. Mark a straight perpendicular line from previous mark. (c) From BL0.0 along previously marked line, measure 2.31 inches (5.87 cm) RH outboard. Mark upper RH mounting screw hole. (d) Align template with marked hole. (3) Using a die grinder, widen existing installation opening according to template cut out. (4) Using a 3/16 drill bit, drill four installation holes according to template. (5) Clear any fallen debris, and clean area with isopropyl alcohol. H. Place and bond anchors (item 6). (See Figure 01) (1) Sand and clean areas of cowl with isopropyl alcohol where (item 6) will be bonded, to prep sur- face. (2) Bond (item 6) to cowl with 5 minute epoxy along wire harness route as shown. I. Install aluminum tape. (See Figure 01) (1) Apply tape primer to installation area following manufacturer’s instructions. Note: Ensure a 0.06 inch (1.52 mm) minimum overlap when splicing narrow pieces of aluminum tape. (2) Install aluminum tape over the installation area as shown, trim tape away around anchors. J. SR20 Serials: Install landing light bumper. (See Figure 01) (1) Remove screws securing top landing light joining bracket to light. Retain screws. Utility Knife - Any Source Cut aluminum tape. Straight Edge - Any Source Mark. Permanent Marker - Any Source Mark. Die Grinder - Any Source Widen installation opening. Drill Bit 3/16 inch Any Source Drill installation holes. Sandpaper - Any Source Prepare installation surface. Silicone Adhesive Dow Corning 736 Any Source Install bumper. Description P/N or Spec. (2) Clean landing light housing surface with isopropyl alcohol. (3) Apply silicone adhesive to bottom surface of bumper (item 8). CAUTION: Do not over tighten screws. (4) Pass screws through the radius portion of bumper and seat against inner surface of center hole as shown and install. K. Install LED landing light (item 1). (See Figure 01) (1) Position lamp and lamp lens (item 1) into lower cowl. (2) Install rubber mounts (item 2), screws (item 3), and washers (item 4) securing lamp lens and lamp to lower cowl. Note: Rubber vibration mounts may be compressed between 0.5 - 0.6 inch (12.7 - 15.2 mm). Uncompressed height of rubber mounts is approximately 0.75 inch (19 mm). L. SR20 and SR22 Serials: Install, route, and secure wire harness (item 5). (See Figure 01) (1) Route (item 5) as shown, securing harness in previously placed anchors. (2) Secure connectors with cable ties (item 7). M. SR22T Serials: Install, route, and secure wire harness (item 5). (See Figure 01) (1) Route (item 5) as shown, underneath and forward of aft edge of NACA duct in previously placed anchors. (2) Secure connectors with cable ties (item 7). N. Insulate and protect wiring. (1) Install additional strips of aluminum tape over the wire harness, as required, to secure and pro- tect from heat. O. Connect wire harness (item 5) to landing light (item 1). (1) Connect power connector to P235 at location shown. (2) Clean lamp surface with isopropyl alcohol and allow to air dry. P. Connect battery 1. (Refer to AMM 24-30) Q. Install engine cowling. (Refer to AMM 71-10) R. Perform Adjustment Test - Landing Light. (Refer to AMM 33-40) S. Complete airplane records by noting compliance with SB2X-33-07R1 in Aircraft Logbook.
