Canopy System
The canopy latch is on the left side of the cockpit, and the canopy can be opened by lifting the red handle. It can be ejected by pushing it forward off its hinges.
Seat Belt Harness System
The seat belt harness includes both lap belts and a 5-point system for safety, with a redundant upper lap latch.
Electrical Power System
The red master electrical switch is OFF when in the DOWN position, and both magnetos are OFF when in the DOWN position.
Fuel System
The fuel shut off valve can be operated by pulling out and rotating down to shut off all tanks. The electric fuel pump is armed when the switch is up.
Smoke Oil System
The aircraft has two smoke oil tanks with a total capacity of 9 gallons. The smoke oil pump is controlled by an arming switch and an inertia switch.
Safety notes

The tanks are stacked one above the other • The upper tank holds 5 gals of smoke oil • The lower tank holds 4 gals of smoke oil • THIS A/C USES A DC MOTOR SMOKE OIL PUMP. POWER TO THE PUMP IS THROUGH AN “ARMING SWITCH” AND THROUGH AN INERTIA (AMANDA) SWITCH WITH WILL CUT POWER TO THE PUMP AND STOP PUMPING SMOKE OIL IN THE EVENT OF A HIGH SHOCK EVENT. • The electric pump is armed via the “CHEM TRAIL” switch on the instrument panel when in the up position.
